Malinga was discovered playing softball cricket on the shores of Sri Lanka's southern coastal town, Galle.
He made his test debut in Australia in the summer of 2004 after hitting numerous sri lankan top order batsman on the body in his try outs at the SSC nets. Malinga's fastest recorded delivery is 152KMP/H. He is also the only bowler in cricket history to have claimed 4 wickets in 4 balls vs South Africa during the 2007 World Cup.
