DAILY MIRROR ONLINE EDITION: Australian vice-captain and wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist has praised Muttiah Muralidaran’s honesty when approaching the world record recently and will try do the same as he aims to break Ian Healy's Australian record of 395 dismissals at the boxing day test against India.
"I quite liked his honesty about when he came out to Australia," Gilchrist told the ‘Australian’ newspaper today. "He said 'look, it's going to happen. When it happens I don't know'.
"I don't think he was being big-headed in saying it was inevitable it's going to happen. With the amount of cricket I intend to play, I'm not pulling out in the immediate future, I think it's inevitable it will occur and I think Heals will understand that it was always going to be the case at some stage in the future.
